Phantoms Ousted

The Miramichi Phantoms displayed a great effort against a strong opponent but in the end were defeated 6-2 by the Tracadie Alpines dropping the best of 7 series 4-1. Bryce Silliker found the twine for both Phantoms goals while Tyler McKay took the loss in goal. The Phantoms first season in the NESHL comes to an end but with a strong fan base and talented line up, be sure to keep an eye on the Phantons next season.

Overtime Heroics

Over 1500 fans at the Civic Center were sent home happy Friday night, as Todd Parker played the overtime hero and breathed new life into the Phantoms. Miramichi pulled out a 6-5 victory with the other goals coming off the sticks of Nathan Francis, Brian Brown, Bryce Silliker, Kris Keating and Matt Foster. Tyler McKay replaced Marc Richard in the first period and was the winning goaltender. The Phantoms now trail the best of 7 series 3-1 and head to Tracadie Sunday March 4th for game 5, which goes off at 7:00 PM. Game 6 if necessary, will be back in Miramichi on Wednesday night.

Game 3 Heartbreak

The Miramichi Phantoms dropped a heart breaker Wednesday night falling to Tracadie in overtime by a score of 6-5. The Phantoms had the lead through most of the game but in the end could not hang on for the victory as the Alpines scored early in overtime. Darcy Foran, Shaun Tucker, Brian Brown, David Mitchell and Todd Parker scored the Phantoms goals. Marc Richard was solid in goal but took the loss. Miramichi now trails in the series 3-0 as game 4 goes Friday night March 2nd at the Civic Center. Puck drops at 8:00 PM.

Game Three: Phantoms 5 - Tracadie 6 (OT)

Phantoms Down 2-0

The Miramichi Phantoms made a huge third period comeback but fell just short on time, dropping game 2 to the Tracadie Alpines by a score of 10-8. The Phantoms trialed 8-4 after two periods of play but would not go away making a valiant third period charge. Brian Brown lead the way with a hat trick, while Jeff Wilson had a pair and singles went to Matt Foster, Nathan Francis and Scott Williston. Tyler McKay took the loss in goal. The series now shifts back to Tracadie on Wednesday February 29th. The puck drops at 8:30.

Phantoms Fall in OT

The Miramichi Phantoms displayed a great effort Friday night in Tracadie but fell just short, losing 6-5 in overtime. The back and forth affair was a great display of high caliber Senior A hockey. Darcy Foran scored a pair for the Phantoms while singles went to Tyler Jardine, Bryce Silliker and Matt Foster. Tyler McKay suffered the loss in goal.

Phantoms Move On

It took all five games and an outstanding effort from the Lameque Au Ptit Mousse but the Miramichi Phantoms reigned victorious Wednesday night by a score of 7-3. Bryce Silliker and Jeff Wilson both fired home a pair of goals while singles went to Kris McKay, Tyler Jardine and Kris Keating. Tyler McKay picked up his third win of the playoffs in goal. Now in a much anticipated match-up, the Phantoms now move on to play the Tracadie Alpines in a best of seven semi-final series. Game one is Friday night, February 24th at 8:30 in Tracadie. These two teams have a well documented history which should make for some of most exciting Senior A hockey action in years.

Series Goes The Distance

The Miramichi Phantoms once again busted out to a two goal lead but this time could not hang on, as the Lameque Au Ptit Mousse scored five unanswered goals to force a fifth and deciding game. Brian Brown and Kyle Rose were the marksman for the Phantoms and Marc Richard was the losing goaltender between the pipes. With the series tied at two a piece, game five will go this Wednesday night, February 22nd - 9:00 PM at the LBA.

Game Four: Lameque 2 - Phantoms 3

Phantoms Notch Victory

The Miramichi Phantoms hung on for a narrow 3-2 win Saturday night to go up 2-1 in their best of 5 series vs. Lameque. The Phantoms took a two goal lead into the third, which was quickly erased by an up start Lameque club. Jeff Wilson sealed the deal mid-way through the period giving the Phantoms a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish. Bryce Silliker and Tyler Jardine had the other markers, while Tyler McKay picked up the win in goal. The Phantoms now travel to Lameque this Sunday February 19th for game 4. Lameque Evens Series

The Lameque Au Ptit Mousse jumped out to an early four goal lead and never looked backed, defeating the Miramichi Phantoms by a score of 6-1. The Phantoms applied plenty of pressure in the second period but Lameque goaltender Martin Duguay was equal to the task. The Phantoms ran into penalty trouble in the third period amassing a total of 73 minutes, compared to Lameque's 21. Bryce Silliker was the Phantoms lone goal scorer while Tyler McKay started in goal but was replaced by Marc Richard early in the first period. The two teams return to Miramichi this Saturday night for game 3. The puck drops at 8:15 at the LBA.

Game Two Postponed

The Lameque General Manager has postponed the game that was supposed to be played tonight February 12th, due to the bad weather on both Lameque and Shippagan plains. Game two will now be played Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM in Lameque. Game three will be back in Miramichi on Saturday night Feburary 18th at the LBA, this one kicks off at 8:15 PM.

Phantoms Win Game One

The Miramichi Phantoms started their playoff battle on the right foot, defeating Lameque by a score of 4-1. Brian Brown, Kyle Rose, Todd Parker and Bryce Silliker all found the scoresheet for the Phantoms, while Tyler Mckay turned in a solid performance between the pipes for the victory. The Phantoms take a 1-0 series lead in the best of five quaterfinal.

Phantoms Win Big

The Miramichi Phantoms wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with a 8-1 trouncing of the Lameque Au Ptit Mousse. Matt Shannon led the way with a hat trick, while Bryce Silliker added pair. Darcy Foran, Brian Brown and Ryan Ginnish rounded out the scoring. Tyler McKay picked up the win in goal. The Phantoms finish the season with .500 record of 8-8-2. The two clubs now begin a best of 5 playoff series against each other. Game one goes off this Friday February 10th at the LBA. The game has an 8:15 PM puck drop.

Home Ice Locked Up

The Miramichi Phantoms travelled to Lameque on Sunday and pulled out a huge 5-3 victory. With the win the Phantoms have locked up home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Phantoms will be duelling it out in a best of 5 series against the Lameque Au Ptit Mousse. Jeff Wilson, Tyler Jardine, Bryce Silliker, Nathan Francis and Kris Keating all notched solo markers for the Phantoms, while Marc Richard was solid between the pipes in the victory.

Final Chapter

The Miramichi Phantoms had the lead going into the third period Sunday evening in Tracadie, but the Alpines replied with four unanswered goals to take away the victory by a score of 9-6. Jeff Wilson netted a pair for the Phantoms, while singles markers went to Matt Shannon, Todd Parker, Bryce Silliker and Nathan Francis. With the loss the Phantoms record drops to 6-8-2 for 18 points. The Phantoms occupy second place in the North Division and hold a six point edge over trailing Lameque.

Shoot-Out the Lights

The Miramichi Phantoms edged the visiting Lameque Au Ptit Mousse 5-4 in a shoot-out Friday evening at the LBA. Nathan Francis, Matthew Shannon, Todd Parker and David Mitchell all found the mesh for the Phantoms. Kyle Rose scored the game winner in the shoot-out, while Marc Richard picked up the win in goal. With the win the Phantoms now stand six points up on Lameque as the two clubs are in a battle for second position in the North Divison and home ice advantage in the first round of the NESHL playoffs.

Last Game of 2011

The visiting Miramichi Phantoms tied the game up with less than a minute remaining but were edged in overtime 6-5 by the Lameque Au Ptit Mousse. Bryce Silliker fired home a pair of goals while single markers went to Darcy Foran, Matt Foster and Jeff Wilson. Tyler McKay was between the pipes for the Phantoms and took the loss. Currently the Phantoms sit in second place in the North Division with a record of 5-7-2 good enough for 16 points.

Phantoms Lose Tight Contest

The Miramichi Phantoms came out on the losing end of a 7-5 score Friday night against their arch nemesis the Tracadie Alpines. The fans got their moneys worth in what was a back and forth game which featured three great fights mid-way through the second period. Todd Parker notched two goals in his Phantoms debut, while Bryce Silliker also netted a pair. Jeff Wilson rounded out the scoring. Marc Richard was the losing goaltender in net.

Phantoms Fall to JC's

The Miramichi Phantoms travelled to Bouctouche on Saturday where they came out on the losing end of a 6-2 score. David Mitchell and Jeff Wilson tallied for the Phantoms while Tyler McKay took the loss between the pipes.

Miramichi Stipped of Points

The Miramichi Phantoms have been stripped of two points from the December 2nd game played at the Civic Center. The game was called off at 13:01 of the second period by the NESHL President, after a huge brawl ensued. The recent decision was made due to Miramichi using an ineligible player who was under suspension.

Phantoms Keep Rolling

The Miramichi Phantoms but in a solid weekend performance picking up 3 out of a possible 4 points. Friday evening at the LBA the Phantoms knocked off Lameque by a score of 6-4. Bryce Silliker turned in an impressive performance notching four goals and an assist. Matt Foster and Darcy Foran rounded out the scoring while Tyler McKay picked up the win in goal.

The Phantoms then travelled to Tracadie on Sunday evening where they were the tough luck losers 3-2 in overtime. The short staffed Phantoms put in a solid effort but fell just short. Dwight Wolfe and Brian Brown scored the Phantoms goals while Marc Richard suffered the loss in goal. The Phantoms are currently 5-4-1 for 15 points which is good enough for a first place tie in the North Division standings.

The NESHL has released its verdict on the brawl which occured between the Miramichi Phantoms and Tracadie Alpines on Friday December 2nd. The Phantoms were hit hard with over 30 man games and a two year hiatus for James Scott. The Phantoms were also placed on probation for one year. The game will be re-scheduled at a later date. The suspensions are as follows:

Phantoms Future?

Friday nights hockey game between the Miramichi Phantoms and Tracadie Alpines came to a hault with 13:01 remaining in the second period after a huge brawl erupted on the ice. Over ten fighting majors were handed out after the malay and the game was eventually cancelled by the NESHL President. The score was 2-1 Tracadie before the incident occurred.

Phantoms Sweep Weekend

The Miramichi Phantoms made the most of their weekend match-ups picking up all four points available with a pair of victories. On Friday night the Phantoms needed a shoot-out to edge the Tracadie Alpines by a final score of 4-3. Jeff Wilson, Darcy Foran and Bryce Silliker had the regulation goals, while Silliker and Matt Foster found the back of the cage in the shoot-out. Marc Richard was solid in goal and secured the win.

Then Saturday evening the Phantoms made their way to Lameque and back to .500 hockey, posting a 3-1 victory over the Au Ptit Mousse. Kris Keating, Matt Foster and Jeff Wilson were the goal scorers with Tyler McKay picking up the win in goal.

Win & Loss Weekend

The Miramichi Phantoms split their weekend series against the Memramcook Maison Levesque. On Friday evening the Phantoms were on the winning side of a 7-5 score. Seven different goal scorers hit the board including, Lance Woodman, Kris Keating, Bryce Silliker, Nathan Francis, AJ McKay, Jeff Wilson and Tyler Jardine. Tyler McKay picked up his first win of the season between the pipes.

On Sunday the Phantoms travelled to Memramcook and suffered a different fate, losing 7-3. Jeff Wilson, David Mitchell and Matt Foster were the goal scorers for the Phantoms. While Marc Richard started in goal and was replaced by Victor Moravek.

Phantoms Drop Pair

Despite a valiant effort in both weekend games, the Miramichi Phantoms came out on the losing end. Friday night the Phantoms had no answer for the Bouctouche netminder and were handed a 5-2 setback. Joel Wormell and Shaun Tucker both notched their first goals of the season while Tyler McKay took the loss in goal.

Sunday evening the Phantoms travelled to Tracadie in their first of six match-ups this season. The Phantoms again turned in a strong performance but couldn't pull the trigger enough, falling 6-3 on an empty net goal, to the Alpines. Jeff Wilson tallied a pair while Chris McNeil rounded out the scoring. Marc Richard was in between the pipes and suffered the loss.

Phantoms Split Games

Senior hockey made its triumphant return to Miramichi Friday night with a great display in front of a crowd of over 500. The Phantoms would not disappoint as Bryce Silliker scored the winner with 38 seconds remaining in the third period to give the Phantoms a 4-3 win over the visiting Cap-Pele Pecheurs. David Mitchell, Nick Foran and Kris Keating also tallied for the Phantoms, while Marc Richard was solid in goal and picked up the victory.

The Phantoms travelled to Cap-Pele on Saturday and were on the losing end of a tough luck 3-2 loss. The Pecheurs scored 2 goals in the last 20 seconds of the third period to steal away the victory. Nathan Francis and Bryce Silliker were the goal scorers for the Phantoms. Tyler McKay put in a strong performance but suffered the loss.
